Polar expedition cruise ship National Geographic Endurance has been floated out at the Ulstein Verft shipyard in Norway. She is under construction for Lindblad Expeditions Holdings, a travel company operating in partnership with National Geographic.

Named after Ernest Shackleton’s Endurance, National Geographic Endurance is a polar class 5 vessel designed for year-round operation in medium first-year ice. She has been constructed with Ulstein’s X-Bow hull design, which allows for smoother and more efficient operation. The ship will be able to accommodate 126 guests in 69 outward-facing cabins.

The vessel will now undergo finalising work before her scheduled delivery in 2020.
