Regent Seven Seas Cruises is introducing 128 new culinary-focused shore excursions for itineraries in the Mediterranean.

The cruise line has developed the tours in collaboration with local chefs and culinary experts as part of its Epicurean Perfection programme, which celebrate flavours from around the world while immersing guests in the cultures and history of destinations that they visit.

New excursions include ‘Minoan Gastronomy Through History’ in Crete, Greece, where guests can participate in a hands-on cooking class to learn about the ancient Minoan diet with dishes made from seafood, goat, wild deer, lentils, fruits and nuts, as well as local wine.

Other available options include learning to cook traditional Turkish cuisine at a Bergama restaurant surrounded by Greek and Roman ruins, or touring a family-owned organic farm in Scala, Italy, to hear about organic farming methods and enjoy a lunch made with fresh ingredients.

Also on offer are ‘Porto’s Port Wine Cellars’ tour in Portugal; the ‘Ultimate Provence Specialties’ offering in Toulon, France, which involves wine, oyster and French cheese tasting in the Provence countryside; and ‘Menorcan-Style Lobster’ excursion in Mahon, Menorca.

“We are delighted to enrich and enhance our array of shore excursion offerings, presenting our guests with even more opportunities to indulge in their passion for travel and culinary delights, all while cruising the Mediterranean aboard the world’s most luxurious fleet,” said Andrea DeMarco, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “With its rich history and diverse culture that have undeniably shaped its delectable cuisine, the Mediterranean serves as the perfect backdrop for these tantalising culinary adventures.”
