Celebrity Ascent, Celebrity Cruises’ fourth Edge-series ship, is to introduce a range of new dining, entertainment and retail experiences when it begins sailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in December 2023.

Among the new experiences will be a redesigned Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud restaurant, created by interior design firm Simeone Deary Design Group, which has been inspired by the chef’s travels. Ascent will also feature a redesigned Cosmopolitan restaurant, inspired by the culture of champagne, while returning clean-cuisine restaurant Blu will now feature an outdoor terrace with 24-person seating that will be available for daytime dining.

A plant-based tasting menu will be available for the first time at Eden Restaurant, while the interactive Le Petit Chef dinner will feature a new animation to be projected onto guest’s tabletop, along with a new menu. The Craft Social bar will now offer high-end bourbons and new tasting seminars, while the Martini Bar will have an expanded menu of cocktails, including brand-new creations.

Ascent will also see the introduction of three new productions in The Theatre, new interactive digital experiences and shows in The Club, and new immersive shows in the Eden Bar and Restaurant. The Resort Deck will play host to a new, nightly open-air celebration with live performances, live music, and a DJ, and a Casino floor that will feature a new layout, a new design featuring deep reds and golds, and new slot machines.

Guests can also visit a redesigned Art Gallery, which will host auctions and art events. An exclusive collection of chic travel and home accessories, the Sunset Collection by Nate Berkus, will also be introduced for purchase onboard.

“I am so excited to introduce the world to Celebrity Ascent and continue the legacy of Celebrity’s Edge Series,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises. “First launched in 2018, the Edge Series transformed what cruising could be and its ships like Edge, Apex and Beyond quickly became consumer favourites. Continuously striving to offer travellers a better way to enjoy travel and reach the world around them, we are so proud of what we have built and look forward to welcoming both seasoned and new cruisers alike.”

Celebrity Ascent will sail out of Fort Lauderdale from December 2023 to April 2024, taking guests to destinations in the Caribbean including the Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands. The ship will then depart to Europe for a summer season of Mediterranean cruises in Greece, Italy, Turkey, Spain and France.
