Viking Line is to add a new catamaran, Viking Faster (FSTR), to its popular Helsinki–Tallinn route from 10 April to 22 October 2017.

Viking FSTR, which has capacity for 120 cars and 850 passengers, will offer four to six daily sailings between Finland and Estonia during the spring and autumn. Each crossing will take less than two hours.

Viking XPRS will continue to provide her usual four departures on the route. In July, there will be a full 12 daily departures on the Helsinki–Tallinn route because both vessels will also make one return sailing to Tallinn during the day.

“Some people like to spend time on the vessel, while others want to get where they are going as fast as possible,” said Kaj Takolander, vice president of Marketing and Sales at Viking Line. “So, we decided to rent a vessel to make express sailings. This year we also want to start up the additional sailings beginning in the spring and continue them well into the autumn. There is such a great demand, and we do not want to leave anyone on shore.”

Viking FSTR’s onboard features include a restaurant and pub, a shop, a Club Lounge class where food and beverages are included in the ticket price, and window seats with charging outlets.
