Silversea Expeditions' Silver Explorer will sail seven new voyages through the Americas in 2018, including the line’s first-ever Pacific Coast explorations.

Between February and May 2018, Silver Explorer will trace a path north from Ushuaia in Argentina, all the way up the Pacific coastline to Vancouver, Canada. All seven consecutive itineraries will feature excursions led by experienced expedition teams.

“These new and exciting expeditions offer the modern-day traveller a chance to rediscover the naturally stunning and historically interesting west coast of the Americas,” said Conrad Combrink, Silversea’s vice president of expedition planning and strategic development. “Each of these unique expeditions will offer a wide variety of exploration activities – from exploring rich marine ecosystems by Zodiac, hiking in rainforests, discovering prolific wildlife, cruising historically important rivers, and exploring volcanoes, to savouring incredible cuisine. Our selection of expeditions along the west coasts of these two great continents will impress and leave the most intrepid traveller longing for more.”

Silver Explorer will start with a 14-day ‘Ushuaia to Valparaiso’ voyage from 25 February to 11 March, where guests will be able to visit Patagonia’s lakes, glaciers, mountains and fjords, as well as the wooden churches of Chiloé and the Torres del Paine National Park.

Immediately following this will be a 10-day cruise from Valparaiso to Callao in Lima, which will include a complimentary flight over the Nazca Lines, local boat excursions to the Ballestas Islands and an optional overnight overland experience to the Atacama Desert.

Silver Explorer will then depart Call on 21 March for a 14-day trip to Fuerte Amador in Panama City via four new destinations – Puerto Quepos, Golfo Dulce in Costa Rica, Isla de Coiba in Panama, and Panama City. It will also include a river adventure through Panama’s Darién Jungle.

From Fuerte Amador, the ship will offer a 12-day sailing to Puerto Quetzali Guatemala between 4 and 16 April, taking guests to Nicaragua and the coasts of El Salvador. She will then embark on an 11-day journey from Mazatlán, Mexico to San Diego, California from 21 April to 2 May, with highlights such as sailing on the Sea of Cortez and an overnight excursion that involves a train journey to Copper Canyon.

Departing San Diego on 2 May, Silver Explorer will then sail an 11-day cruise to Vancouver, followed by a 9-day trip from Vancouver to San Francisco, California, which includes two new ports of call – Anacortes and Cypress Island.
