Royal Caribbean International is to add an interactive aqua park, an Asian restaurant, new lounges and guest staterooms, and much more to Independence of the Seas during her multi-million pound refurbishment in spring 2018.

Named Splashaway Bay, Independence of the Seas’ new aqua park will feature waterslides, water cannons, fountains, pools and a drench bucket. Meanwhile, the new Asian-inspired Izumi restaurant will offer fresh sushi and guests will be able to see hibachi chefs cooking tableside on Teppanyaki grills. The new lounges and Panoramic Ocean View staterooms will have wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling views.

Other onboard highlights will include a new Escape Room, top-deck trampolines, a laser tag arena, an improved ice rink and a revamped theatre.

Independence of the Seas will homeport in Southampton, UK following her renovation.
