German operator Plantours Cruises is to expand its European river cruise fleet by adding four new vessels in the 2019-2020 season.

Currently operating six river cruise ships in Europe, Plantours will welcome Rousse Prestige, which will sail itineraries on the Danube, Rhine, Main and Moselle rivers. The company will also expand into Southern Europe for the first time by introducing the new Gil Eanes on Portugal’s Douro river.

Oscar Wilde and Emily Brontë will join the fleet in winter 2019-2020 to provide New Year’s cruises from Dusseldorf, Germany to Antwerp and Ghent in Belgium, and Rotterdam and Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Following the success of its 2018 itineraries between St. Petersburg and Moscow, Plantours will also increase its Russia programme in 2019. The company will offer two different 12-day itineraries onboard Rossia, which joined the fleet this year.
