OSM Maritime Group, which provides crew management services to the passenger shipping industry, has become a member of Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO).

OSM was accepted as a member of BIMCO following an extensive screening process that covered its finances, management processes, operating and safety procedures, and environmental record. The organisation joins more than 2,000 member companies, which include shipowners, operators, managers, brokers and agents.

As a member, OSM will have access to all BIMCO’s industry outlooks, piracy reports, educational materials, e-learning courses, software programmes, emissions and compliance guidelines, and other resources. This will provide the organisation with the tools it needs to succeed in the increasingly competitive maritime industry.

“At OSM, it’s all about people and we see BIMCO as a great opportunity to increase our interaction with many prominent industry stakeholders,” said Bjoern Sprotte, COO of OSM. “BIMCO’s benchmarking tools give us enhanced opportunities in this respect. We have also followed the recent modernisations in BIMCO with great interest and we are excited to become part of a leading organisation and contribute to shaping the future of shipping.”
