Oceania Cruises is to offer a new collection of multi-day pre-, post- and mid-cruise land tours from spring 2016.

Exclusive to Oceania Cruises, the Culinary Creations Land Tours will be offered on Nautica, Marina, Riviera and Sirena during select sailings to Rome and Tuscany in Italy; Barcelona in Spain; Provence in Monte Carlo; Athens in Greece; London, UK; and Buenos Aires in Argentina.

“This is a natural extension for the Oceania Cruises brand and leverages two of our greatest strengths: developing rich shore experiences that bring the incredible destinations we visit to life, and creating the most engaging culinary enrichment programmes at sea,” said Jason Montague, president and COO of Oceania Cruises. “As destination experts we recognise that many cultures around the world are often defined by their culinary traditions, and the new Culinary Creations Land Tours we designed are perfect for guests seeking a more in-depth exploration of those traditions.”

Highlights from the new Culinary Creations tours include a three-night stay at the Château de Berne in Provence, where they will help to prepare a traditional Provençal lunch, enjoy a wine-tasting tour at a private wine cellar, sample local delicacies and explore traditional villages such as Thoronet and Cotignac. Guests will also learn about local olive oil production and regional specialties in Moulin de Pascaline.

Another tour includes a three-night stay in Tuscany where guests will participate in an interactive cooking class at Villa Pandolfini, enjoy a half-day walking tour of Florence and an independent visit to the Square of Miracles in Pisa.

Meanwhile during a two-night stay in Athens, guests will have lunch by Greece’s top-awarded Michelin-star chef at Varoulko, visit an open-air Greek market, learn how to prepare traditional Greek dishes alongside a Greek chef and attend wine and ouzo tastings. They can also embark on a self-guided tour of the Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum.

In addition, Oceania Cruises will offer a three-night stay in London where guests will visit historical food markets, gourmet shops and enjoy Prosecco and canapés before taking part in a Master Class at Brigade Cook School. During the class they will prepare a three-course lunch featuring seasonal and classic British dishes.
