MSC Cruises will launch its ‘most beautiful’ ship in March 2019. MSC Bellissima will offer passengers an artificial intelligence (AI) digital cruise assistant, a new tapas restaurant by two Michelin starred chef, two new Cirque du Soleil shows, and features aimed at reducing environmental damage.

Guests will experience the world’s first digital cruise assistant Zoe, who is available in seven languages and is designed to answer guests’ most commonly asked questions from their cabin. Zoe is a voice-enabled AI device fitted in every cabin in partnership with HARMAN International. The technology aims to improve the guest service.

On the Mediterranean-style promenade, two Michelin starred chef Ramón Freixa has created the HOLA! Tapas Bar which is designed as a social dining experience. HOLA! features a range of dishes mixing traditional and vanguard in both communal and individual seating.

“I want guests to enjoy a true taste of Spain through appetising tapas and a cheerful bar atmosphere,” said Freixa. “I am delighted to be collaborating again with MSC Cruises. This partnership is special to me as we have such strong shared values and this new restaurant embodies our passion for sharing the joys of Mediterranean food.”

Guests will have a choice of 12 international dining venues and 20 bars, as well as acclaimed pastry chef Jean-Philippe Maury’s Chocolaterie and Chocolate Bar.

MSC Bellissima will also offer many more entertainment experiences, including: two brand new Cirque du Soleil shows designed exclusively for Bellissima’s passengers; a Grand Canyon themed aquapark; a full-size bowling alley; F1 simulator; six new west-end style productions; a shopping gallery with over 200 brands; and the Balinese MSC Aurea Spa offering 79 different body and facial treatments.

In addition, Bellissima’s kids programme has been designed in partnership with LEGO and Chicco offering a 700 metre-squared children’s play area, a School of Magic programme and weekly Magic Talent Shows.

MSC is aiming to reduce its environmental footprint and as such Bellissima will be fitted with: an exhaust gas cleaning system for cleaner emissions; an advanced wastewater treatment system; smart heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC) to recover heat from machinery spaces; and LED lighting and smart devices to significantly save energy.

MSC Bellissima is the second ship in the Meraviglia class and she will spend her inaugural season in the Mediterranean offering seven-night cruises to some of the region’s most popular ports.
