Genting Hong Kong took delivery of Genting Dream, the first ship for its new Asian brand Dream Cruises, during an ceremony in Bremerhaven, Germany on 12 October.

German shipbuilder Meyer Werft signified the official handover to Genting and Dream Cruises by replacing its own flag and the German flag with flags for Dream Cruises and the Bahamas.

Construction of Genting Dream started at Meyer Werft in February 2015. Now that she has been delivered, Genting Dream will sail to her homeport in Guangzhou, China via Gibraltar, the Mediterranean Sea, the Suez Canal and the Indian Ocean. She will visit India, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong before arriving in Guangzhou on 13 November.

Genting Dream will be able to accommodate 3,400 guests in 1,674 staterooms, including the ‘Dream Mansion’, an exclusive ‘ship-within-a-ship’ complex featuring two floors of suites with European-style butler service.

Guests will also enjoy Chinese regional, Asian and international cuisine in 35 bars and restaurants, as well as various entertainment options and venues. Highlights will include China’s Got Talent – The Dream Experience, a 45-minute theatrical representation of the worldwide TV series, and the first at-sea Zouk nightclub.
