Holland America Line has joined with Endemol Shine North America to bring concepts from its popular Masterchef Junior TV show to Nieuw Amsterdam this November.
As part of the venture, Masterchef season 4 winner Addison (aged 10) and semi-finalist Zac (13) will bring their culinary expertise onboard the ship during ist 13 November Caribbean cruise. They will join other Masterchef Junior contestants including Claudia Sandoval (season 6 winner), Luca Manfe (season 4 winner), Elizabeth Cauvel (season 5 runner-up), Leslie Gilliams (season 5 contestant) and Sean (season 2 contestant).
The contestants will compete in Mystery Box Challenges, the Masterchef All-Stars Grilled Cheese Showdown and the All-Stars Finale Cook Off. They will also participate in speciality break-out sessions, cooking demonstrations, and meet and greet sessions. Meanwhile, guests will have the chance to compete alongside Addison and Zac, and with fellow passengers, on the Masterchef Cruise stage, and dine from menus created by the Masterchef Junior cooks. All sessions will be held in the ship’s Holland America Culinary Arts Center.
Presented by Endemol Shine North America, producers of the television series, and events company Life Journeys, Nieuw Amsterdam’s seven-day cruise will depart Fort Lauderdale, Florida and visit Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Half Moon Cay, Holland America Line’s private island in the Bahamas.
