Royal Caribbean International’s Majesty of the Seas is to be upgraded with new onboard features before she arrives at her new Port Canaveral homeport on the Florida coast for the first time next summer.

Majesty of the Seas will be fitted with waterslides; family-friendly Jacuzzis; a poolside movie screen; Izumi Japanese restaurant; Sabor Taqueria, which will offer Mexican cuisine; and the Chef’s Table, an exclusive dining experience hosted by the executive chef and sommelier. The ship will also feature the Dreamworks Experience, enabling guests to enjoy themed activities and entertainment led by some of the animation studio’s most popular characters.

Meanwhile, the casino will be upgraded with the latest slot machines and table games, and suite guests will be able to access more exclusive amenities and services as part of the line’s newly enhanced suite programme. In addition, guests will be given free and unlimited access to Voom, the fastest internet network at sea, to enable them to stream movies, music and online video games, and contact family and friends.

“With these exciting new features and unprecedented fast and free unlimited internet for guests on Majesty of the Seas, we are stepping up our game and offering a phenomenal short cruise adventure for our guests,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.

Starting on 27 May 2016, Majesty of the Seas will sail three- and four-night cruises to the Bahamas, which all include a call at CocoCay, Royal Caribbean’s private island destination.

“Our short itineraries have been very popular offering vacationers the perfect opportunity to sample the unmatched experience of a Royal Caribbean cruise, as well as providing a quick adventurous getaway,” said Bayley.

Meanwhile Rhapsody of the Seas, which was originally scheduled to offer short Bahamas itineraries from Port Canaveral, will be based in Tampa to offer seven-night Western Caribbean cruises in winter 2016. The new itineraries will further expand the choices for guests in Central Florida and help Royal Caribbean increase the total number of U.S. destinations, from where vacationers can find conveniently accessible ports to embark on the ultimate Caribbean cruise adventure.
