The GreenPort Cruise & Congress is an annual conference providing decision makers in the port community – including port authorities, terminal operators, shipping lines and logistics companies – with a meeting place to learn about the latest in sustainable development and environmental best practices.

In October 2018, GreenPort will be hosted by the Port Authority of Valencia, due to its dynamic area of influence and extensive network connecting it to major world ports. Valenciaport is not only a key element in promoting the Valencia Region abroad, but also the maritime gateway for production and consumer goods to and from the entire Iberian Peninsula.

The congress aims to enable key decision makers to effectively implement changes to reduce their carbon footprint and to be more sensitive to environmental considerations in the wake of new legislation and guidelines.

With the ongoing increase in numbers of passengers enjoying cruises, the GreenPort Cruise Conference provides a platform for cruise terminal operators and other cruise stakeholders, including city representatives and cruise lines, to discuss the environmental and logistical issues surrounding this expanding industry. It is held on the day before Greenport Congress.

This will be the 14th edition of the conference and follows two successful events in Amsterdam in 2017, and more recently the first-ever US edition in Baltimore, Maryland in May 2018. Both attracted more than 200 attendees.
