Cunard Grill and Queens Grill guests can expect redesigned suites and a reimagined luxury dining experience when they sail onboard Cunard line’s Queen Mary 2 after her summer 2016 refit.

Cunard plans to reconfigure all 172 Grills suites to provide guests with the maximum amount of space, and restyle the interiors to include subtle references to it rich nautical past. Each suite will also be fitted with a new bespoke luxury carpet with a design inspired by rugs from the original Queen Mary.

Grill suite guests will also be able to enjoy a new dining experience in both the Queens Grill and Princess Grill restaurants, which will offer new culinary options on their extensive a la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.

Each restaurant will be redecorated with new colours schemes and furnishings so that each has its own ‘distinctive character’. The venues will also offer more intimate tables for two, more space between tables for privacy and additional loose tables for greater flexibility.

“Under the moniker, ‘Queen Mary 2 remastered,’ there will be a host of innovations and enhancements, further confirming our commitment to invest in luxury on a grand scale," said Richard Meadows, president of Cunard North America. "Guests will certainly feel the sense of pride and confidence that the refurbishment will exude, befitting of Queen Mary 2's luxury ocean travel experience.”

UK-based SMC Design is to lead design efforts for Queen Mary 2’s multi-million dollar interior refurbishment, which will take place between 27 May and 21 June 2016.

As part of the project, the company will redesign the vessel’s interiors to introduce ‘classic Deco touches’ inspired by Cunard’s heritage, and new signature colour schemes, carpets, furniture and more decorative fixtures and fittings throughout. The ship will also be fitted with 15 new single cabins, 30 more Britannia Club cabins and an expanded area for pet kennels.
