Costa Cruises is to base the 1,800-guest Costa neoRomantica in Asia, where she will sail regular cruises for locals and be operated by the Costa Asia brand.

Costa neoRomantica is the fifth Costa ship to be deployed in Asia as the company continues to increase its capacity in the region. Costa Victoria began homeporting in Asia in 2012, followed by Costa Atlantica in 2013, Costa Serena in 2015 and Costa Fortuna in 2016.

“The deployment of the fifth Costa ship in Asia will reinforce our leading position in Asia and allow us to continue significantly grow the Asian cruise market in the next decade, and further boost the Asia market to become one of the most prominent markets in the world,” said Buhdy Bok, president of Costa Group Asia.

From 26 April to 8 October 2017, Costa neoRomantica will sail five- and eight-day ‘Experience Japan Like Never Before’ cruises from Fukuoka in Japan. Guests will be able to visit Sokcho and Busan in Korea, Vladivostok in Russia, and Hakodate, Aomori, Sakata, Niigata, Kanazawa, Maizuru and Sakaiminato in Japan.

Onboard highlights will include a Carnival of Venice party, where guests can dress in traditional Venetian masks and costumes and participate in themed activities and entertainment. They will also be able to enjoy authentic Italian delicacies, such as pizza, gelato, ravioli and more than 80 types of wine and cheese selected by Worldwide Sommelier Association.
