21 MSC Cruises launches digital remote check-in for Alaska sailings from Seattle MSC Cruises introduced a new digital remote check-in service for MSC Poesia’s inaugural Alaska sailings in May. Guests travelling on MSC Cruises’ official airport transfer were able to complete their cruise check-in at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport before arriving at the cruise terminal. They can then skip documentation verification and check-in steps at the port, proceeding straight to security screening and boarding, speeding up embarkation. MSC Cruises plans to extend the solution to general airport arrivals, hotels and other locations. It also intends to roll out the digital remote check-in service across more ports. OnDeck App update gives guests more ways to plan The OnDeck App from software company Sourcetoad now gives cruise guests more ways to make plans before embarkation, following an integration with reservation software Versonix Seaware. Passengers can reserve dining, shore excursions, spa treatments, drinks packages and other onboard experiences in advance, reducing time spent booking activities after boarding. For cruise lines, the integration can create earlier touchpoints with guests, increase onboard revenue, and enable more personalised journeys from the point of booking. Once the cruise begins, reservations continue through the app’s shipboard integrations, to maintain a connected experience across shoreside and onboard systems. OnDeck delivers this functionality through a ready-to-deploy, white-label mobile app for cruise operators.
