Cruise & Ferry Review - Autumn/Winter 2026

22 MARKETWATCH Holland America introduces year-round Europe cruising Holland America Line is expanding its presence in Europe by extending its 2027-2028 sailing season into winter. Nieuw Statendam will remain in Europe throughout the year, and new itineraries – including a 13-day Baltic and Scandinavian Christmas Markets and a second 15-day holiday sailing that features overnight stops in Hamburg and Copenhagen – will add more than 70 port days to the year. “Europe continues to be one of the most sought-after destinations for our guests, and as a cruise line with Dutch roots, it’s a region we know incredibly well,” said Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and itinerary planning at Holland America Line. “Expanding to year-round Europe allows us to showcase a completely different side of the destination – one that is quieter, more immersive and deeply seasonal. From the festive charm of Christmas markets to a cooler and more relaxed Mediterranean region, winter offers a more authentic way to experience Europe.” Island Bwoy Cuisine helps cruise operators diversify onboard menus Island Bwoy Cuisine is “bringing bold Caribbean flavour to the high seas” with its Jerk Chicken Sausage, for cruise line dining. The US-based food producer, which has origins in Jamaica, expects the gourmet sausage to appeal to cruise operators that are looking to diversify onboard menus to reflect global palates. Mark Henry, the company’s founder and chief creator, says the sausage is “a flavourful, readyto-integrate option for buffets, handheld snacks, and specialty venues and events”. Crafted with traditional jerk seasoning and portioned for high-volume operations, the jerk chicken sausage reflects a broader shift toward authentic, culturally rich dining. Island Bwoy Cuisine continues to expand its line-up of sausages and other meat products to meet demand for distinctive menu options at sea. Manta Marine Technologies to expand its portfolio Manta Marine Technologies is expanding its portfolio with a solution aimed at helping shipowners improve vessel efficiency and reduce emissions.
