Across all the venues, we focused on creating spaces that matched the quality and authenticity of the cuisine and our commitment to serving ‘The Finest Cuisine at Sea’. Our goal was to make every space onboard a special, unforgettable place. A cruise ship is like a small city, and the design is truly a collaborative effort. Through a long-standing partnership with Oceania Cruises, Studio DADO helped lead the design of the guest suites, dining venues and many of the public spaces, setting the overall tone for the residential luxury concept. Meanwhile, Tillberg Design of Sweden oversaw the decorative signage and designed various retail spaces onboard, including our clothing and accessories store as well as the chic jewellery store. Each partner who worked with us onboard Oceania Allura brought a deep understanding of Oceania Cruises’ guests and a clear sense of the design goal, and each took a different path to get there. That’s exactly the way a project like this is supposed to work. Shared knowledge allows the creative team to work as a single, integrated force where concepts are continuously redefined through feedback and execution. “Oceania Cruises has always set the standard for luxury, but Oceania Allura raises the bar,” says Yohandel Ruiz, founding partner of Studio DADO. “Our design challenge was clear: redefine luxury. But it went beyond that. The brief called for a continuation of the residential warmth and welcome for which Oceania Cruises is known, alongside the sophistication of an elevated, world-class culinary experience and a new level of comfort. “As designers, we had an incredible canvas. Oceania Allura offers the most spacious standard staterooms at sea, and we designed most of the ship’s major spaces, so we had a lot to work with. This made a difference from a continuity perspective; it allowed us to truly enrich the experience across the complete guest journey. As a result, Oceania Allura delivers a seamless journey of culinary, cultural and residential luxury.”
