Cruise & Ferry Review - Spring/Summer 2023

163 “My favourite space onboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Viva is the Mandara Spa and fitness centre. The Mandara Spa offers ultimate relaxation onboard, with the industry’s first charcoal sauna at sea and a two-storey cascading indoor spa waterfall. Within the Thermal Suite there’s also an ice room, a flotation salt pool, a steam room and a salt room to help guests awaken their senses at sea. It was designed by the Rockwell Group, an interdisciplinary architecture and design firm that specialises in hospitality, culture and healthcare.” Gary Anslow, Senior Director of Sales Norwegian Cruise Line UK and Ireland “The Lido Pool area is my favourite space on Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Venezia. It’s a versatile two-deck-high space with a retractable glass roof and phenomenal ocean views that will serve as a backdrop for everything from daytime relaxation to evening events. There are a variety of areas to sit, relax and socialise, with lounge furniture by the pool and intimate seating areas on the upper level, where we will host events like our new Italian-themed sail away party and evening street party. The process to create the space was unique as the architecture was designed by our sister brand, Costa Cruises.” Glenn Aprile, Director of Newbuilds Product Development, Carnival Cruise Line FEATURE
