Cruise and Ferry Interiors 2019

Expanding business prospects Report Temprotech has opened a new warehouse facility adjacent to its UK headquarters, tripling its stockholding capacity and allowing it to supply shipyards, cruise lines and outfitters with a wider range of flame-retardant temporary protection materials at short notice. Excellent logistic support means materials can be despatched by road, sea and air to meet delivery deadlines. Temprotech can also now hold emergency stock of clients’ custom-printed protection materials for immediate despatch to smaller or unplanned projects. Further afield, Temprotech has secured bonded warehousing in Miami, Florida, to stock various protection materials specifically to serve cruise lines and the refit market in the area. Plus, the company has appointed an agent in Singapore, strengthening its position in the Far East. Taking a collaborative approach BC Ferries invited customers and local communities in British Columbia, Canada to join conversations about the design of five new ferries and the onboard amenities that will help shape the passenger experience. The new ships are expected to enter service in the mid2020s and will deliver enhanced environmental sustainability. “This is an exciting project and we invited our customers to join the conversation,” said Mark Collins, BC Ferries’ president and CEO. “There is still a lot to be decided as we work to keep fares affordable, reduce our environmental impact, plan for future flexibility and enhance the onboard experience for customers.” CFI CURATED 3 4 Photo: BC Ferries Powell River Queen will be replaced by one of the five new eco-friendly ferries
