Cruise & Ferry Itinerary Planning 2027

One example in Charlottetown is ‘The Seafood Chef’, a culinary experience centred on chef Adam Loo. Guests enjoy a multi-course meal while learning about the family influences, personal milestones and ambitions that have shaped his career. “His passion transforms the meal into something far more meaningful than a dining experience,” says Hartfield. “Guests engage with the food, hear the stories behind it, and gain a personal connection to the individual who created it.” Another experience, ‘Bowls and Berries’, is planned for 2027 in Holland, Michigan. While developing the excursion, Hartfield personally visited Holland Bowl Mill to see how its wooden bowls are produced and learn about the family’s history. During the planned excursion, guests will be able to watch as logs are turned into finished products and receive a specially crafted bowl from Victory Cruise Lines. The programme will then continue at Bowerman’s Blueberries Farm Market, where guests can have lunch and pick blueberries to fill their bowls. “The excursion is a delightful combination of craftsmanship, culinary discovery, and agricultural tradition,” says Hartfield. “More importantly, it tells the story of families who have devoted generations to their businesses and their communities. Guests leave with more than a souvenir and a taste of local produce; they leave with a deeper appreciation for the people and traditions that make Holland special.” The two excursions reflect Hartfield’s commitment to creating excursions that explore the human side of the destination. “Authenticity doesn’t require grand scale,” she says. “Sometimes, the most memorable moments emerge from a conversation, a family recipe, a timehonoured craft, or the opportunity to participate in an everyday tradition that is anything but ordinary to a visitor.” Photo: courtesy of Victory Cruise Lines Victory Cruise Lines collaborates with locals such as chef Adam Loo in developing community-centred excursions Photo: courtesy of Victory Cruise Lines
