24 In the 30 years my brother Jon and I worked together, first planning and then running the publishing company Tudor Rose, perhaps our most exciting moment was completing the acquisition of the Cruise & Ferry brand in 2011. International Cruise & Ferry Review, as it was known then, was among the first publications Jon worked on when he left a burgeoning career in retail (on the management fast-track with John Lewis) to enter the world of publishing in the late 1980s. Jon moved to the centre of London, where his work quickly became his life: I distinctly remember one Christmas in the early 1990s when our family came together at our parents’ house in Leicester and Jon arrived armed with stacks of paper that represented the workin-progress on the latest issue. He spent much of what was meant to be a wellearned break meticulously proofreading and marking up those page previews so the issue would be correct and complete in time for its print deadline. One of my fondest memories from our childhood was a family holiday on Jon Ingleton 1968-2026 Written by Toby Ingleton
