MARKETWATCH Costa Cruises has revealed its 2021-2022 season in South America, which will see the new Costa Toscana offer cruises in the region. The cruise line’s new flagship will make her debut in Brazil with an inaugural seven-night cruise to the cities of Salvador and Ilhéus departing from Santos on 26 December 2021. The ship will offer another 15 cruises with the same itinerary from 2 January to 10 April 2022, including departures during Carnival and Easter. She will then leave Brazil to sail to Italy on 17 April. New Costa Toscana to debut in Brazil in 2021 Dream Cruises’ World Dream has restarted cruise operations in Singapore, departing on her first ‘Super Seacation’ itinerary. Around 1,400 guests were onboard for the first of a series of two- and three-night that are available for Singaporeans, taking them out to sea before returning to the city. World Dream will be operating at 50 per cent capacity to enable the observance of social distancing restrictions, and all guests are required to take a Covid-19 test before boarding. World Dream begins sailing from Singapore Hurtigruten has reorganised its cruise operations by establishing a separate expedition cruise entity, Hurtigruten Expeditions. The new entity will operate a fleet of eight small expedition cruise ships, calling at more than 250 global destinations. Hurtigruten’s cruises along the coast of Norway will now operate under a separate entity, Hurtigruten Norway. Seven ships will sail on the route, which Hurtigruten has been operating since 1893. P&O Cruises has officially taken delivery of its new ship Iona from Meyer Werft in a handover ceremony at the German shipyard. The vessel is 345 metres long with 17 guest decks, which P&O says makes her the largest cruise ship ever built for the UK market. She is also the first British cruise ship to be powered by LNG. Iona is scheduled to make her debut in 2021, sailing to destinations in Northern Europe, Spain and Portugal from her home port in Southampton, UK.
