Cruise & Ferry Itinerary Planning 2020

Cruising to return to Canary Islands TUI Cruises and Hapag- Lloyd Cruises have resumed cruising from the Canary Islands, following the agreement of a health protocol for cruising by the government of the Spanish autonomous community. The protocol requires cruise companies to carry out testing on all travellers before arriving and to subscribe an insurance that covers all the expenses for passengers who may be infected by Covid-19. In addition, cruise operators must not exceed 60-70 per cent of their capacity and they should clean and disinfect the ships after each trip. A safe home France’s port of Le Havre is able to accommodate several passenger ships in lay-up in the constant level basins located behind locks. Since the start of the pandemic, the port has received requests for lay-up berths for several cruise ships and ferries, with each request studied by the Le Havre harbour master’s office. Thus, Ponant’s Dumont d’Urville has been laid up in the city centre at the foot of the National Maritime School since July, opposite Grand Circle Cruise Line’s Bizet. Several of Brittany Ferries’ vessels are also sheltering in the port while waiting to restart operations. 1 3
