35 TUI River Cruises is to introduce a fifth ship, TUI Elara, to its European fleet in summer 2027. TUI Elara, meaning “bright” in Greek, will sail five-, seven- and 14-night itineraries from Frankfurt, Germany; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Basel, Switzerland. The ship will be the first in TUI’s fleet to sail to Brussels in Belgium and will introduce five new itineraries to the line’s offering. The vessel will accommodate up to 138 passengers across its 70 cabins, including the brand’s first French Balcony Junior Suite Cabins. The second Prima Plus-class ship was handed over at the shipyard in Marghera, Italy, with executives from both companies in attendance. The 3,565-passenger ship will sail three- and four-day itineraries to The Bahamas during its maiden season, as well as seven-day cruises around the Caribbean. “As our newest ship, Norwegian Luna is a powerful reflection of NCL’s ‘It’s Different Out Here’ brand ethos,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of NCL. Scenic Group to add three river cruise ships to fleet Scenic Group is to add one river ship to its Emerald Cruises fleet and two ultra-luxury vessels to its Scenic fleet to extend its presence across Europe and Asia in 2027 and 2028. Emerald Nova will join Emerald Radiance on the Douro River in June 2027, followed by Scenic Aria in September the same year. Scenic Spirit II will sail itineraries on the Mekong River through Vietnam and Cambodia when it launches in early 2028. Avora Residences will launch its first residential cruise from Lisbon, Portugal, in January 2028 after acquiring Seven Seas Navigator from Regent Seven Seas Cruises on a nine-year charter. The ship will be renamed Avora Lumina and undergo a “full residential conversion” to reimagine cabins and common spaces for long-term living. Accommodation will range from approximately 300 to 1,173 square feet and will feature premium finishes and ocean views, while residents will be given the opportunity to personalise their spaces.
