57 INTERIOR VIEW Star of the Seas Amber Hickman explores how the new addition to Royal Caribbean International’s Icon-class will provide guests with a wide range of options for entertainment, relaxation and fun Star of the Seas, the second addition to Royal Caribbean International’s Icon-class series of ships, is set to debut in Port Canaveral, Florida, in August 2025. Like its predecessor Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas will feature eight themed neighbourhoods spread across the ship. These spaces are designed to create unique experiences for every guest – whether they are seeking thrills, fun or relaxation. For example, the Surfside neighbourhood is designed for families and is styled like a vibrant beach boardwalk with an arcade, splash zone, carousel and dining spots. Meanwhile, the Hideaway neighbourhood is an adultsonly space with 180-degree ocean views, as well as a suspended infinity pool. The Aquadome neighbourhood is one of the most visually distinctive spaces onboard the ship, featuring a glass dome that sits at the bow and offers 220-degree views. Inside this neighbourhood is the AquaTheatre, which has a 55-foot-tall water curtain and will host a variety of evening entertainment. Star of the Seas will also have over 40 food and beverage options, with each venue offering its own unique theme and atmosphere. One highlight will be the Empire Supper Club, which first debuted on Icon of the Seas and has been redesigned for Star of the Seas. Now known as the Lincoln Park Supper Club, the premium restaurant takes design inspiration from 1930s Chicago and will allow guests to watch live entertainment while enjoying a special menu of dishes. There will also be a variety of accommodation options for guests. Highlights will include The Ultimate Family Townhouse suite, which spans three levels and includes an indoor slide, a cinema room and a patio that provides exclusive access to the Surfside neighbourhood. Another premium accommodation option will be the Royal Loft, which will overlook the Chill Island neighbourhood and feature a private whirlpool, wet bar and piano. Guests will also be able to choose the Sunset Corner Suites, which will be located at the aft of the ship and feature a wraparound balcony.
