GLOBAL PORTS HOLDING INAUGURATES NEW CRUISE TERMINALS IN LANZAROTE AND FUERTEVENTURA In May 2025, Global Ports Holding, in collaboration with local partner Sepcan and the Port Authority of Las Palmas, has officially inaugurated new cruise terminals in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. At Lanzarote Cruise Port, two modern terminals now enhance both transit and homeport operations, supported by a satellite terminal offering auxiliary services for passengers and crew. Fuerteventura’s new modular terminal, located near the city center, features a dining area with an outdoor terrace, designed to improve passenger experience and reflect the island’s character. All terminals are ecoefficient, built with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind, incorporating solar panels and innovative construction practices. These openings mark a major milestone in GPH’s €40 million investment plan across the Canary Islands. The terminals are expected to welcome over one million passengers annually, creating jobs, boosting local businesses, and supporting the islands’ growing role as a premier cruise destination. Official ceremonies drew broad support from institutional and community leaders. Greenock Cruise Port has officially welcomed its first cruise call under Global Ports Holding management with the arrival of MSC Preziosa. Guests were greeted with a traditional Scottish welcome by local bagpiper John MacInnes. This milestone marks Greenock’s integration into GPH’s global network and a new chapter for cruise tourism on the River Clyde. Strategically located just 25 miles from Glasgow, the port offers access to iconic destinations like Edinburgh and the Highlands. GPH aims to enhance the cruise experience and support sustainable tourism growth across Scotland through this key gateway. WELCOME TO GREENOCK CRUISE PORT Ege Port Kuşadası has completed the first phase of its solar energy investment with the installation of a rooftop solar power plant that will generate over 312,000 kWh of electricity annually. This $300,000 investment marks a major step toward full reliance on renewable energy, helping to reduce the port’s carbon emissions by 223 tons per year. A second, ground-mounted solar plant is scheduled for completion in late 2025, which will enable the port to meet 100% of its energy needs through renewables. As Türkiye’s leading cruise port and gateway to Ephesus, Ege Port Kuşadası supports sustainable tourism in the Eastern Mediterranean. General Manager Aziz Güngör highlighted the port’s commitment to net-zero goals, aligning with Global Ports Holding’s mission for a greener cruise industry. EGE PORT KUŞADASI COMPLETES FIRST PHASE OF SOLAR ENERGY INVESTMENT SATS-CREUERS TO EXPAND MARINA BAY CRUISE CENTRE SINGAPORE IN 2025 Marina Bay Cruise Centre Singapore is set for a major S$40 million upgrade in 2025—the most extensive since its 2012 opening. The nine-month project will expand check-in areas, enhance passenger amenities, and add a larger Ground Transport Area (GTA) with more bus bays and ride-hailing lots. Capacity will increase from 6,800 to 11,700 passengers, supporting dual ship calls and improving guest experience. In recognition of this investment, the Singapore Tourism Board has extended the concession agreement through 2037. The enhancements aim to position Singapore as a premier regional cruise hub, aligned with global trends toward larger ships and growing cruise demand. GPH Chairman Mehmet Kutman called the expansion a step toward creating “future-ready cruise ports.” www.globalportsholding.com PROMOTED | GLOBAL PORTS HOLDING
