3 6 MARKETWATCH A-Rosa’s new river cruise ship A-Rosa Sena has started its maiden season af ter debuting in Cologne, Germany, on 21 June 2022. A-Rosa Sena features various dining options and a large spa with a Finnish sauna, Jacuzzi, treatment rooms, gym, relaxation room and ice grot to. The ship also of fers a children’s club, family cabins, and five separate children’s pools. “A-Rosa Sena’s design is truly unique on the river,” said Dennis Brenner, hotel manager at A-Rosa Kreuzfahrten. “Together with the spacious interior layout, she of fers a completely new travel experience.” The vessel also has technology to improve its efficiency and environmental performance. “Thanks to the hybrid propulsion system and the exhaust gas purification filter, you don’t notice any emissions onboard and can just enjoy the pure cruising experience,” said Captain Ulli Schwalbe. Forbo Flooring Systems has collaborated with awardwinning architect and designer Mac Stopa to launch its latest Flotex FR ‘Created by’ collection, which comprises 24 floor covering designs. Stopa is the founder of design firm Massive Design and is wellknown for creating modern, innovative and functional interiors that reflect and enhance a company’s corporate image. The ‘Created by’ collection reflects Stopa’s unique style and his commercial relevance to cruise ship interiors. The recurring theme of the designs is the idea of architectural modularity. “As an architect, interior designer and designer of transmission forms, this collection is inspired by my experiences, observations and fascinations derived from a variety of design fields,” said Stopa. “These ideas have been visualised in partnership with Forbo Flooring through the medium of highresolution digital printing.” Carnival Corporation is to carry out comprehensive technology upgrades across its entire fleet of ships to improve energy savings and reduce fuel consumption. The Service Power Package upgrades are part of the company’s efforts to boost energy efficiency and will be rolled out throughout 2023 onboard ships in Carnival’s nine cruise line brands, including AIDA Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Costa Cruises, Cunard, Holland America Line, P&O Cruises (Australia), P&O Cruises (UK), Princess Cruises and Seabourn The Service Power packages will be tailored for each individual ship and will improve the onboard heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, which currently account for 25 per cent of its total energy consumption.
