FEATURE Valletta Cruise Port, Malta Valletta Cruise Port ’s facilities are located in Valletta’s Grand Harbour, where passengers can see the neighbouring Valletta Waterfront. Beautifully restored 18th-century warehouses built in the late Baroque period sit on the waterfront, originally commissioned by Manuel Pinto da Fonseca, Grand Master of the Order of Saint John. The port restored these buildings to blend the old and new, transforming them into a variety of service areas along the water’s edge. Magazino Hall, the main check-in hall, was built in 1727 and sits just below the iconic Valletta bastions. Originally used for storing oil for street lamps, the hall features an impressive arched ceiling and golden limestone walls. Zadar Cruise Port, Croatia Opened in 2019 and managed by Global Ports Holdings, Zadar Cruise Port’s passenger terminal features contemporary architecture and offers services to passengers and the local community. The space was built with a vision to provide service excellence to cruise and ferry operators, and its vast port facilities enable it to accommodate the largest cruise ships sailing today. The port ’s potential has been recognised by some of the largest and most luxurious cruise brands, which are steadily increasing their presence here. In addition to its primary function as a passenger terminal, the building is often used as a venue for photoshoots for luxury brands and video productions. 1 8 4
