1 8 2 FEATURE Cruise Port Amsterdam, the Netherlands The terminal of Cruise Port Amsterdam is an entrance to a world-class tourist destination. Located on the river IJ, the terminal is within walking distance of the centre of Amsterdam, making it a well-located turnaround port and an ideal place to begin exploring the famous Dutch city. The architecture of the terminal is inspired by its function: the undulating shape of the roof symbolises the connection between land and water, and the interior wooden beams act as a reminder of traditional shipbuilding. The extensive use of glass also provides uninterrupted views of the IJ harbor and city centre. Maritime Station of Naples, Italy Maritime Station of Naples, managed by Terminal Napoli, is located in the heart of Naples, facing the small island of Capri with Mount Vesuvius to the east. The building was designed in 1936 by prominent Italian architect Cesare Bazzani, known for creating the National Central Library of Florence and the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. Since its construction, the Maritime Station has transformed its facilities and now includes a congress centre, a shopping centre, and a new four-star hotel. Malaga Cruise Port, Spain Terminal El Palmeral serves boutique cruise lines visiting Malaga and is located only a short walk from the heart of the city. Guests can enjoy the amenities of the Mediterranean Sea terminal, whilst being surrounded by the gardens of El Palmeral. The terminal offers a wide range of services to its cruise guests, providing an enjoyable experience as soon as they step off the ship. For example, the duty-free retail area offers a selection of local and handmade products from the city, while the concierge information desk helps guests to find a range of experiences and activities to enjoy while in port.
