Global cruise outfitting contractor MJM Marine has recently carried out decorative enhancements to all Sailor Cabins and Rockstar Suites on Virgin Voyages’ first two cruise ships to take to the ocean, Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady. The cabin outfitting project onboard Scarlet Lady, whose name is inspired by an early Virgin Atlantic airplane, was completed while the ship was in service during the Miami/Caribbean season. The outfitting work on Valiant Lady, whose name is derived from the Latin ‘valere’ meaning strong, commenced whilst the ship was in wet dock in Civitavecchia, Italy, in January 2022. The remaining work in the suites was carried out when the ship was in service between Portsmouth, UK, and Belgium in early March. MJM Marine outfitted 1,330 Sailor Cabins and 78 Rockstar Suites onboard each of the ships, using elements of furniture and specialist joinery. Some of the production elements include a custom-designed slatwall feature with foil-wrapped aluminium, 5,320 wardrobe drawers and the installation of over 2,600 framed artworks. MJM is now looking forward to commencing complete cabin works on Virgin Voyages’ third ship, Resilient Lady, in Italy in July 2022. MJM Marine offers its clients bespoke joinery services, along with a range of complementary services including its newly launched carpet and upholstery division and antimicrobial solutions. Carpet and upholstery services include furniture and soft goods reupholstery, the painting, touching up and refinishing of furniture, and various flooring solutions. Antimicrobial products include lighting and air filtration systems that are developed in partnership with Vyv Antimicrobial Lighting and Ilimex UV-C Air Sterilisers.
