SCHOTTEL is also using its expertise to deliver a series of ice-class- strengthened propulsion systems that comply with Finnish-Swedish ice class IA Super regulations. Global maritime services provider Inchcape Shipping Services is to open a new Cruise Centre of Excellence in Mumbai, India to deliver a range of practical services and weekly intelligence reports to passenger ship operators. The centre is set to open in the first quarter of 2021. “There are many cruise fans out there who can’t wait to get back on a ship,” said Grant Holmes, global sector head for the cruise industry at Inchcape. “The key thing for our industry is to come back and get things right from the outset in regards to health management, operational efficiency and sustainability. Inchcape will be there all the way.” Inchcape Shipping Services to open new Cruise Centre of Excellence Communications technology provider Telenor Maritime is to implement 5G technology and other digital capabilities onboard the ferries in the Color Line fleet. Telenor will also increase data capacity via its Radio Link network and deliver access to a separate secure communication network dedicated to operational traffic digitalisation. These additional capabilities will enable Color Line to improve operations via data-driven optimisation, predictive maintenance and freight optimisation.
