Designed by Knud E. Hansen, the Superstar ferries will have multiple seating and public areas, a shopping venue and several outdoor spaces for passengers. “This investment aims at energy efficiency and emission reduction, but at the same time, it is an investment for the highest passenger comfort,” said Emanuele Grimaldi, CEO of Finnlines. The design for Tallink Grupp’s newest vessel will be centred around the concept of a ‘customer journey’ and will change according to different passenger needs throughout the day. Materials and visuals inspired by the Baltic Sea will be used throughout, with each area of the ship being connected by spacious vistas. MyStar is currently under construction at Rauma Marine Constructions’ shipyard in Finland and is scheduled to begin operation at the beginning of 2022. dsign Vertti Kivi & Co. designs MyStar interior BC Ferries has completed its refit of Skeena Queen, returning her to regular service on the Swartz Bay to Salt Spring Island route. New furniture has been introduced in the passenger areas, while one of the lounges has been converted to provide cafeteria-style seating with tables. Air conditioning has now been installed on the ship, while the washrooms have been expanded. Upgrades have also been made to navigation, communication and electrical systems to enhance the safety and reliability of the vessel. Stena Lines’ newest E-Flexer ferry Stena Estrid started service between Dublin, Ireland and Holyhead, Wales on 13 January 2020. Described by Stena Line as one of the most modern ferries in the world, Stena Estrid’s venues include a Sky Bar, two Happy World children’s play areas, a Hygge lounge and two movie lounges, among many others.
