Cruise & Ferry Interiors 2020

2 4 CFI CURATED Artist and illustrator William Whitelock Lloyd’s ‘P&0 Pencillings’ collection, which comprises 16 pen and ink drawings, offers a witty pictorial account of his travels onboard P&O’s Jubilee steamers in the 1890s. They provide an invaluable record of the period, as well as an important resource for today’s designers who are looking for inspiration from a classic cruise ship interior. Ocean Sole Africa is a charitable project based in Kenya that has transformed over 1.5 million discarded flip-flops into art to promote awareness for marine conservation. Photo: P&O Heritage Seabourn’s two new purpose-built expedition vessels are to feature the Constellation Lounge, a viewing lounge located high and forward on each ship. Interiors and furniture for the lounge will be created by Adam D. Tihany and Tihany Product Design, with a red and blue palette accented by silver and bronze details. Lighting elements will create star-like lighting patterns across the ceiling, while the featured art will recall historical maps of the night sky. Floor-to- ceiling glass walls will wrap around the space, giving guests 270-degree outward facing views. Seabourn Venture and her as-yet-unnamed sister ship will launch in June 2021 and May 2022.
