Polar adventure travel company Quark Expeditions is to launch six new itineraries featuring calls to both popular and remote Arctic and Sub Arctic islands, as well as in-depth destination explorations, for 2020.
Highlights of the 2020 season will include: the ‘Four Arctic Islands’ voyage, with visits to Spitsbergen and Jan Mayen in Svalbard, as well as Greenland and Iceland; and the ‘Under the Northern Lights’ itinerary that will explore Iceland and East Greenland. Alternatively, guests can opt for the ‘Essential Greenland’ cruise to see its southern coasts and Disko Bay; the ‘Best of the Western Arctic’ itinerary to visit Canada and Greenland; or the ‘Jewels of the Russian Arctic’ voyage to explore the mountains of Novaya Zemlya and the wildlife sanctuary of Franz Josef Land. Meanwhile, the ‘High Arctic Odyssey’ itinerary will explore the extreme regions of the Russian High Arctic.
Quark Expeditions’ new purpose-built expedition ship, World Explorer, will also make her Arctic debut in 2020.
“The Arctic’s distinct wildlife and striking scenery is always a captivating favourite with much to experience, but this season in particular will be special with our route expansion, itinerary enhancements and the inclusion of the World Explorer ship,” said Andrew White, president at Quark Expeditions. “Our top priority is the traveller experience, which is why we’ve taken traveller feedback seriously, utilising it to refine existing experiences, and craft new ones, which we are immensely proud of.”
50 Years Of Victory will also return to the fleet, offering a 14-day voyage to the North Pole.
