Incat Crowther has designed a 35-metre catamaran passenger ferry for Danish operator Samso Rederi. The vessel will sail between Aarhus, Denmark and the island of Samso to boost tourism and the economy in the area.
Incat Crowther has developed an economically responsible vessel with high durability and low maintenance requirements. The ferry will feature two MAN engines and sail at 25 knots to reduce load on the engines and reduce maintenance intervals. The ship’s hulls have been designed specifically for high efficiency and lower fuel consumption.
Samso Rederi’s ship will carry 296 passengers on two decks – 118 in the main cabin and the remaining 116 on the upper deck. Onboard facilities will include bicycle racks, passenger cabins, toilet facilities, a fully-equipped kiosk, luggage racks and designated areas for pets and children.
The vessel will be built to Bureau Veritas rules and flagged under the Danish Maritime Authority.
