Dream Cruises has become the first cruise line to restart service from Singapore, with World Dream offering a series of new two- and three-night ‘Super Seacation’ cruises for local residents during the school and year-end holidays.

The cruise line was granted approval by the local authorities to start a pilot based on the enhanced health and safety protocols it has deployed since resuming operations in Taiwan in July. All guests aged 13 and above will be required to take a Covid-19 test before embarkation, and all passengers aged seven and above will be required to present their personal TraceTogether Token or registered TraceTogether app at check-in.

“Public health and safety are our utmost priority as we reopen various sectors of the economy in a gradual and safe manner," said Keith Tan, chief executive of the Singapore Tourism Board. “We are glad to work with Genting Cruise Lines on the cruise pilot with a focus on the necessary safe management measures to ensure the safety of passengers and crew. Genting has sailed from Singapore for the past two decades, and our longstanding partnership puts us in a good stead for the cruise pilot starting from November.”

Dream Cruises’ parent company Genting Cruise Lines has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic and the Institute of Technical Education. Together, the organisations will collaborate on a series of joint activities, learning projects and internship programmes for students and graduates who are interested in working in the cruise and tourism sector.
