Worldwide Cruise Terminals, which manages and operates Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, hosted a record 15,307 cruise passengers in one day this June.

The terminal, which also celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2018, welcomed the passengers when it handled simultaneous calls from Royal Caribbean International’s Ovation of the Seas and Dream Cruises’ World Dream on 15 June. This enabled the port to break its previous single-day passenger throughput record, which was set when 13,327 cruise guests called in Hong Kong on 29 October 2017.

“We are delighted to see our cruise line customers obtaining very high load factors at attractive yields,” said Jeff Bent, managing director of Worldwide Cruise Terminals. “Our operations team now handles five-figure throughput days regularly, and we look forward to the next opportunity to break the record again.”
