Viking Ocean Cruises’ fourth ship, Viking Sun, is to spend her maiden season sailing the company’s first-ever ‘World Cruise’ when she debuts in December 2015.

Spanning 141 days and visiting five continents, 35 countries and 66 ports, the ‘World Cruise’ will depart PortMiami, US on 15 December 2017 and take guests around the world before finishing in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in London, UK. Guests may choose the full 141-day cruise from Miami to London, which includes 21 days of sailing from Miami to Los Angeles, or opt to cruise from Los Angeles to London, a 120-day itinerary.

Guests will benefit from complimentary shore excursions in each of the 66 ports and highlights will include two days in Havana, Cuba; a crossing of the 48-mile-long Panama Canal; and a visit to Valletta and Mdina in Malta. Viking Sun’s itinerary will also include 12 overnights in places such as Papeete, Tahiti; Auckland, New Zealand; Sydney, Australia; Singapore, the world’s only island city-state; Bangkok, Thailand; and Shanghai, China.

“Ever since our first ship set sail last year, we have been focused on bringing the destination back to ocean cruising,” said Torstein Hagen, chairman of Viking Cruises. “Our unique, award-winning approach allows our guests to explore comfortably, with experiences that enrich their lives along the way. This World Cruise is the most extensive and culturally immersive itinerary we have ever offered, and we are pleased by the early interest in pre-sales we have seen from our guests and industry partners.”

Viking will also provide guests with free unlimited wifi and business class tickets for flights, while all gratuities, service fees and other amenities are part of their cruise fare.
