Viking Line’s Mariella has rejoined service after a two-week drydock in Landskrona, Sweden.

The passenger ferry now features a new conference room that can accommodate 40 people, an expanded Club Mar nightclub with modernised décor and sound systems and two new restaurants named Ocean Grill and Plate – Social dining. Other onboard entertainment can be found in the PS4 Lounge and the Kids playroom.

In addition, more than 100 cabins were refurbished including 72 Comfort Class cabins, family rooms and all of the vessel’s luxury cabins.

“The cheapest cabin is no longer necessarily enough,” said Kaj Takolander, Viking Line’s head of sales and marketing in Finland and the Baltics. “Instead, people want a bit of luxury during their voyage. Traditional services such as playroom ball pools and buffet meals remain popular, but in addition people would like new kinds of experiences.”

Mariella carries around one million people per year on the route between Helsinki in Finland and Stockholm in Sweden.
