Baltic sea cruise ferry operator Viking Line has updated its mobile app to make it easier for passengers to manage their bookings and track their loyalty points.

First launched in 2015, the updated Viking Line App enables passengers to book trips by using pre-filled information and then use a QR code to check in when they arrive at ports to embark on their ships. Once onboard, they can use the app to instantly access the ship’s wi-fi network, without needing to create a separate username or password.

In addition, the app now provides information about cruise programmes and timetables, and enables passengers to browse through the products and offers available in the shops onboard the ship. Plus, passengers can use the app to monitor their loyalty points.

“There is an increasing interest in digital travel applications and solutions,” said Håkan Sourander, head of central marketing at Viking Line. “We want to further develop the Viking Line App and its features to make it even easier for our passengers to get the most out of their cruise experience.”

The Viking Line App can be downloaded for free for iOS and Android devices from the AppStore and GooglePlay store.
