Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has launched a virtual reality app to enable travel agents and guests to gain a 360-degree view of its flagship SS Maria Theresa.

Developed to work with virtual reality headset Oculus Rift, which will be released in early 2016, the app provides a 360-degree video of the ship’s interior to familiarise travel agents and guests with its amenities. It also introduces guests to a selection of the onboard crew, including the in-suite butlers, the bartenders and the captain.

“We are very proud to be at the forefront of marketing technology with the launch our first virtual reality app,” said Kathryn Beadle, managing director of Uniworld UK. “This is an exceptionally powerful application that arms agents with the tools to showcase the levels of luxury available on our ships. Uniworld can now build deeper interactions with customers through the power of virtual reality technology.”
