Holland America Line is to offer nine extended Hawaii itineraries onboard two of its cruise ships between autumn 2018 and spring 2019.

Both Eurodam and Amsterdam will sail a series of 16- to 20-day voyages to various destinations in Hawaii, departing from ports in Seattle, Washington; Vancouver, British Columbia; and San Diego and Los Angeles, California. The ships will take guests to Hilo, Nawiliwili, Lahaina and Kona, with most itineraries featuring an overnight call in Honolulu. This will give guests time to visit Pearl Harbor, Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head State Monument, or spend the evening enjoying traditional Hawaiian food and entertainment at an authentic luau.

Eurodam will also offer a 28-day ‘Hawaii, Tahiti and Marquesas’ roundtrip from San Diego in March 2019, which will visit two ports in Hawaii, Fanning Island and six ports in French Polynesia – including overnights in both Bora Bora and Papeete. Meanwhile, Amsterdam will sail a 51-day ‘Tales of the South Pacific’ roundtrip from Sand Diego in October 2019, taking guests to Hawaii, Tahiti, America Samoa, the Cook Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu and Tonga.

Guests will also be able to learn more about Hawaii’s local traditions, cuisine and culture by participating in various onboard activities as part of Holland America’s Explorations Central programme. Activities will include Polynesian lei making, ukulele lessons, hula dancing classes, Hawaiian language classes, EXC Talks, cooking demonstrations and classes in the America’s Test Kitchen venue and themed mixology classes featuring local ingredients. In addition, the Dining Room and Lido Market will offer dishes with Hawaiian flavours and guests will be able to visit a poolside Hawaiian Luau for Hawaiian beer tastings.

“Hawaii is synonymous with paradise — from the stunning scenery to the laid-back, friendly culture — and these islands beckon cruisers to come explore, relax and become enchanted with their idyllic ambiance,” said Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America. “We are committed to providing guests with an immersive and memorable vacation, so our Hawaii itineraries are further enriched with unique onboard offerings that bring Hawaiian cultural activities and cuisine onboard throughout the voyage.”
