TV chef and cookbook author Massimo Capra is to give a lecture and culinary demonstration onboard Paul Gauguin Cruises’ flagship Paul Gauguin this September.

Capra will join guests on the ‘Tahiti & the Society Islands’ voyage, which starts on 23 September and host a cooking demonstration and meet-and-greet photo opportunities.

Born in Italy, Capra began his culinary career in a trattoria near Venice before relocating to Toronto, Canada in 1982 to start working at a family members’ restaurant and then became a chef at Prego della Piazza restaurant.

In 1997, he joined with Paolo Paolini to open Mistura Restaurant of Toronto and in 2010, he licenced his name to the Rainbow Room at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. More recently, he became chef/brand owner of Boccone Trattoria Veloce and Boccone Pronto at Pearson airport in Toronto and of Soprafino Restaurant at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. Last year, he opened Capra’s Kitchen in his hometown of Mississauga, Ontario.

To support his restaurant empire, Capra has also authored several cookbooks, is the food editor for Canadian Home Trends magazine and hosts ‘Gourmet Escapes on Canadian TV. Plus, he is a regular guest expert on ‘CityLine’ talk and lifestyle show, host of Food Network’s ‘Restaurant Makeover’ and a judge on ‘Chopped Canada.’
