Thomson Cruises’ TUI Discovery is to homeport at the Port of Tyne in the north east of England from May 2018, marking the first time the ship has been based in the UK since her summer 2016 launch.

TUI Discovery will offer cruises to the Norwegian fjords, visiting cities such as Stockholm, Sweden; Tallinn, Estonia; and Reykjavik, Iceland. Passengers sailing on the Baltic cruises can also enjoy an overnight onboard stay in St Petersburg, Russia.

"We're excited to have TUI Discovery based in the UK for the first time and Port of Tyne is the ideal base to explore all that northern Europe has to offer,” said Richard Sofer, managing director of Thomson Cruises. “This move will offer our customers more flexibility and choice and with the variety of new itineraries on offer visiting exciting new destinations has never been easier”
