Contemporary impressionist painter Alexandre Renoir and two Relais & Châteaux Chefs, Erik Arnecke and Fabio Pisani, are to host an enhanced enrichment programme onboard Silversea Cruises’ Silver Spirit this November.

All three will sail on the seven-day ‘Farewell Mediterranean’ cruise from the Italian port of Rome to Barcelona in Spain, which departs on 2 November 2015 and closes Silver Spirit’s Mediterranean summer season. The ship will overnight in Livorno, Italy, and call in Monte Carlo; Marseille, France; Porto Mahon and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Renoir will host lectures about the life of his great-grandfather, the French impressionist painter Pierre-August Renoir, and display his own art. During the visit to Monte Carlo, Renoir will host an exclusive optional shore excursion to his estate at Cagnes-sur-Mer, where Pierre-August Renoir spent the last years of his life.

Meanwhile, Arnecke and Pisani, who both work at Michelin-starred restaurants, will deliver informative demonstrations and cook grand gourmet dinners.

“We’re delighted to showcase the talents of these masters of art and cuisine,” said Lisa McAuley, commercial director of UK and Ireland at Silversea. “We offer our guests the very best cultural and culinary programmes to enrich and enhance their experience.”

Guests will also be able to attend specialised workshops and participate in cooking competitions hosted by culinary trainer David Bilsland, who oversees Silversea’s L’École des Chefs programme – the only Relais & Châteaux cooking school at sea.

Gennaro Buono, sommelier of the two Michelin-starred Il Pagliaccio, a Relais & Châteaux restaurant in Rome, will also help guests to learn more about Italian wines.
