Alarm, monitoring and control systems provider Servowatch has installed its Servocore Alarm and Monitoring System (AMS) onboard Condor Ferries’ high-speed ferry Condor Rapide.

Fitted during Condor Rapide’s recent mid-life upgrade with help from Servowatch’s installation partner Grundon Marine, the new AMS replaced the vessel’s previous ISIS250 system. It comprises a local intelligent data acquisition unit, multi-point serial communication gateways, graphical operator workstations, local operator panels, a group alarm panel, a duty engineer alarm transfer system, and engineer patrol safety system, and functionalities for data logging, analysing trends and shutting down propulsion.

“The Servowatch AMS was on time, on budget and installed with minimal disruption to our service and we look forward to many years of trouble-free operations,” says Robert Loader, ship manager for Condor Ferries. “We are completely satisfied with the support and assistance that both the Servowatch team and its installation partner Grundon Marine provided.”

Servowatch’s customer support team will continue to support Condor Ferries to ensure that the system works well during Condor Rapide's operations between the UK, Channel Islands and France.

“It’s a pleasure to be selected as the AMS solution provider for yet another Incat vessel upgrade and we were delighted to be selected by Condor Ferries to provide a retrofit system for the mid-life upgrade on Condor Rapide,” said Wayne Ross, Servowatch CEO. “The installation went as planned and we completed the word on schedule and in budget, which I am sure will have pleased our customer.”
