Princess Cruises will homeport in Singapore for a fifth consecutive season in 2018-19, with the deployment of Sapphire Princess and her sister ship Diamond Princess.

Princess Cruises will have two ships homeporting at Marina Bay Cruise Centre for the first time to meet increasing demand for both short and long-haul cruises from Singapore.

For the upcoming 2017-18 season in Singapore, Sapphire Princess will be making 3-13 night sailings in Southeast Asia, bringing over 40,000 international guests.

The 2,670-guest Sapphire Princess will visit the ports of Bali, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Port Klang, Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Nha Trang, Phuket, Ko Samui, Laem Chabang (Bangkok) and Sihanoukville (Cambodia).

Nearly 70% of guests are expected to come from overseas to depart from Singapore and local guests will be able to meet people from different countries and backgrounds through a range of social activities.

“Singapore is a thriving and attractive cruise hub, with world-class berthing facilities and proximity to a wealth of cruise destinations in the region. We are seeing increasing demand among Singaporean and Southeast Asian travellers, opting for cruise travel to explore the region. Our commitment to homeporting in Singapore for a fifth consecutive year reflects our goal to meet this demand by offering new travel experiences,” said Farriek Tawfik, director of Southeast Asia, Princess Cruises.

For the 2018 and 2019 homeporting seasons, Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess will feature the new Princess Luxury Bed in all cabins, designed by sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus to optimise sleeping conditions.

Diamond Princess also features the largest Japanese bath at sea – an 8,800 sq ft bath and garden complex, offering indoor and outdoor Japanese bathing experiences including steam rooms, saunas and hot tubs.

Both ships feature many amenities including the award-winning Sabatini’s Italian restaurant, Sterling Steakhouse, the Movie Under The Stars open-air poolside amphitheatre, Princess Theatre and Lotus Spa.

Diamond Princess will be deployed in Singapore with 10-11 day voyages in December 2018 and January 2019, offering guests the opportunity to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
