TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 5 made her inaugural call at Portland Port in the UK on 12 September 2016.

The 99,800gt ship, which cost US$625 million to build, brought 2,534 passengers to the UK port. Guests were able to visit attractions such as the Jurassic Coast, Portland Bill, Corfe Castle, Minterne House and Abbotsbury Swannery.

“It is fantastic that TUI Cruises’ new flagship chose to call at Portland Port during its first year of operation and is proof that the port’s cruise business is going from strength to strength,” said Ian McQuade, general commercial manager at Portland Port.

Portland will welcome a maiden visit from Holland America Line’s Koningsdam on 20 September, which will arrive with more than 2,500 passengers onboard.
